About

Arriving in Berlin fresh off the boat in 2013, who knew this would become my home? Certainly not me! Berlin for me was an interim, a short break on my way up to becoming the first female Secretary General of the UN.

However, as with all the greatest stories, things did not go to plan. I fell in love. With the city. With the life. 2 and half years and counting and this city is the city that keeps on giving. UN plans placed firmly on the back burner, I have delved back into my life's primary passion - History.

What better city could I possibly have chosen than Berlin? A city oozing history out of every cracked building facade and rebuilt church. A city which remains in constant flux - as one not so well know human commented over a century ago - Berlin is a city condemned forever to becoming and never to being (Karl Schleffer, 1910).

In terms of my musings then, consider Berlin my muse. She is the city I have chosen to write for the foreseeable future. Delve in then and join me on a journey through this mighty cityscape.
